Application & Selection

Applications for the Kokoda 2027 trek are reviewed individually by the Amend Movement team. Submitting an application does not guarantee a place. Selection is at Amend Movement's discretion. If approved, your place is only secured once your $1,000 AUD deposit is received within 24 hours of approval.

Payment

The total cost of the trek is $6,000 AUD per participant. A $1,000 AUD deposit is due within 24 hours of your application being approved. The remaining $5,000 AUD balance is due by 1 April 2027. No payment plans beyond this two-stage structure are available. Flights to and from Papua New Guinea are not included and are your own responsibility.

If you withdraw

Your deposit and payments are committed to the trek on your behalf as soon as they are paid, including bookings with our licensed trek operator, permits, accommodation and your personal walker. For that reason:

• the $1,000 AUD deposit is non-refundable if you choose to withdraw
• the $5,000 AUD balance, once paid, is non-refundable if you choose to withdraw

This applies whether you withdraw before or after paying the balance. A withdrawal also affects the whole group of twenty-eight men who have trained and prepared together, which is why we ask every man to be certain before he commits.

We strongly recommend taking out personal travel insurance that includes trek cancellation cover as soon as your deposit is paid.

If we cancel or change the trek

If Amend Movement cancels the trek, or the trek cannot go ahead, you will receive a refund of the amounts you have paid to Amend Movement. If the trek is postponed to a new date, you can choose to transfer your place to the new date or receive a refund of the amounts you have paid. If we make a significant change to the trek, we will tell you as early as we can and explain your options.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including your rights if a service has a major failure. These terms should be read together with our general Terms and Conditions and Privacy + Refund Policy.
