Amend Movement
Terms and Conditions
The terms that apply when you use our website, book a session or join one of our programs, workshops, retreats or events.
Effective date: 9 October 2026
These terms are between you and Amend Movement Pty Ltd (ABN 47 638 211 953), trading as Amend Movement ("Amend", "we", "us" or "our"). We are based on the Gold Coast, Queensland. By using amendmovement.com, creating an account, or booking or buying any of our services, you agree to these terms. Please read them alongside our Privacy + Refund Policy.
1. What we offer
Amend supports men, and in some services women, couples and young people, to understand their patterns, regulate their emotions and build healthier relationships. Our services include 1:1 online counselling, the 12-Week Emotional Leadership Program, online and in-person workshops, 3-day retreats, community events such as the 24-Hour Row, the Kokoda trek, and digital resources. Each offer is described on its own page, and that description forms part of these terms.
2. We are not a crisis or emergency service
Our counselling, programs and events are not designed for emergencies. If you or someone else is at risk of harm, call 000 (Australia) or 111 (New Zealand). For 24/7 support, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14, MensLine Australia on 1300 78 99 78, the Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467, or in Aotearoa New Zealand call or text 1737.
3. Counselling and the limits of our work
Our counsellors are registered counsellors. Counselling, coaching and group work with Amend is not medical, psychiatric or psychological treatment, and it does not replace care from your GP, psychologist, psychiatrist or other health professional. If we believe you need a different kind of support, we will tell you and may suggest a referral.
What you share in counselling is kept confidential, except where we are required or permitted by law to disclose it, including where there is a serious risk to your safety or someone else's, or where a court or authority requires it. More detail is in your client agreement.
4. Who can take part
Our programs, workshops and retreats are designed for adults aged 18 and over. Counselling is primarily for adults. We may support young people aged 14 to 17 where suitable, with a conversation with a parent or guardian and signed consent. Young people aged 16 or 17 may attend some retreats or workshops only by prior arrangement with us. You are responsible for making sure the information you give us when booking is accurate.
5. Bookings and payments
Prices are shown in Australian dollars at checkout. Your place is confirmed once payment, or the first instalment of a payment plan, is received. If you choose a payment plan, you agree to pay every instalment on its scheduled date, including if you stop attending. If a payment fails, we may pause your access until it is resolved. Some offers, such as counselling packages and the Kokoda trek, have their own payment terms, which are set out on their pages and in your booking confirmation.
6. Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds
Cancellation, rescheduling and refund terms for counselling, workshops, retreats and the Emotional Leadership Program are set out in our Refund Policy. The Kokoda 2027 trek has its own Terms and Refund Policy. All requests must be made in writing to info@amendmovement.com.
Nothing in these terms or our refund policies excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Where a service has a major failure, you are entitled to the remedies the law provides.
7. Changes to programs and events
Occasionally we may need to change a date, time, venue, facilitator or the way content is delivered. If we make a significant change, we will let you know as early as we can. If we cancel a program, workshop, retreat or event, we will offer you a place at a future date or a refund of what you paid for that service.
8. Showing up for the group
Our group spaces work because men can be honest without fear. When you take part, you agree to:
- treat facilitators and other participants with respect
- keep what other participants share confidential
- not record, screenshot or share any session, call or community post without permission
- not attend under the influence of alcohol or other drugs
- follow reasonable directions from facilitators about safety
If someone's behaviour puts the safety of the group at risk, we may remove them from a session, program, community or event. Any refund in that situation is at our discretion, except where the law requires otherwise.
9. Online sessions and recordings
Online sessions are run on Zoom. Group program calls may be recorded so participants can watch them later in the member portal. Recordings are for participants only. Individual counselling sessions are not recorded without your consent.
10. Retreats, events and physical activity
Retreats, the 24-Hour Row and the Kokoda trek involve physical and emotional effort. You are responsible for your own fitness and health, and we recommend speaking with your doctor before taking part if you have any health concerns. Please tell us about any medical conditions, injuries or dietary needs that are relevant to your participation. Unless an offer says otherwise, travel to and from events is your responsibility, and we recommend travel insurance for any event you travel to.
11. Member portal access
Access to online programs, resources and communities is personal to you and cannot be shared or transferred. Access lasts for the period described on the offer page. Please keep your login details secure.
12. Results and testimonials
Change takes commitment, and everyone's journey is different. We do not promise specific outcomes. Testimonials on our website reflect the real experiences of past participants and clients, and are not a guarantee of your results.
13. Our content
All content on our website and in our programs, including videos, workbooks, frameworks, tools, images and text, belongs to Amend Movement or is used with permission. You may use it for your own personal growth. You may not copy, resell, teach or distribute it without our written permission.
14. Using our website
We work to keep our website accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. Our website may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
15. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Amend is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of our website or services. Where our liability for a failure to meet a consumer guarantee can be limited, it is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again. Nothing in these terms excludes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
16. Privacy
We handle your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and our Privacy Policy.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your booking or purchase applies to that booking or purchase.
